What You'll Require


Utensils
- 1 x Heavy Bottom Pot
- 1 x Frying Pan
- 1 x Wooden Spoon/ Spatula

Pre Preparation
Wash rice and lentil mix 2-3 times in cold water till water runs clear.
Soak in cold water for 10 minutes.
Wash and finely chop 1x tomatoes for cooking.
Wash and drain the veggies for cooking.
Wash and finely chop coriander for garnish.
Cooking
Cooking Bisibele Bhath
In a heavy bottom pan add the rice-lentil mix, Bisibele Mix, Veggies, Tomato, Tamarind Paste and salt to taste.
Add 1ltr water, bring to boil on medium flame.
Reduce to low heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes till cooked to a soft porridge consistency.
In a small frying pan heat 2 tsp oil on high-medium, add mustard seeds let it splutter, add cumin seeds, dry red chilli and curry leaves. Be quick in this tempering process to avoid burning. Use a long handle spoon to help stir.
Immediately add the sizzling tempering mix to the Bisibele Bhath and close with a lid.
Open the lid after a few minutes, give the Bisibele Bhath a good mix.

To Serve
Garnish with chopped coriander and gram flour crispies. Serve Hot.
TIP: You'll enjoy this meal with Pappadam or potato chips on side and melted Ghee on Bisibele. (Skip Ghee if Vegan)
